OBJECTIVE: To obtain design, production and training work that challenges me technically, as well as creatively. My professional interests range from social justice activism to video and stage production.

EXPERIENCE:

1998-2005

Acúya, Dominican Republic:

Developing beachfront property to house a theater and peace education center.

1998-2004

Lighting Engineer, Nomad Sound Systems, Alexandria, VA:

Installed and ran professional lighting systems for rental clients.

2002	Coordinating Producer, Pan-African Video Festival, Washington, DC:

Organized video screenings of African films at local restaurants; negotiated public screening rights with video distributors.

1997	Haiti Peace Team, Peace Brigades International, Port-au-Prince, Haiti:

Full-time volunteer position guided by working principles of non-partisanship, non-interference and consensus decision-making; all reports, meetings, interviews executed in French and Haitian Creole.
Designed and co-facilitated participatory workshops on conflict resolution, nonviolence and interactive theater.

1996	Lighting Designer, The Bank Nightclub, Washington, DC:

Installed, programmed, and ran the club’s intelligent (computerized) lighting and laser systems.

1996	Washington Quaker Workcamps, Boligee, AL:

Helped rebuild two churches destroyed by arson.

1995	Official Election Observer, Haiti:

Observed June 25th parliamentary and December 17th presidential elections as a member of independent delegations accredited by Haiti's Provisional Electoral Council.

Operated and maintained rental sound, video and lighting systems for concerts, conferences and nightclubs.
Led technical crews within a wide variety of environments, budgets and time restrictions.
